01 / Project Introduction
Titled Gnossienne, a reference to the myth of the Minotaur & labyrinth of Gnossos, this sculptural landscape of irregular tetrahedral forms achieves 'hiddenness' and evades comprehension by manipulating our cognitive expectations when negotiating with systems of aesthetic order. Difference and anomaly are masked behind languages of strictly patterned regularity and sameness. A single slip, unnoticeable to both the hypothetical experiencer of the space and real interpreter of drawings, completes the illusion.
